If a friend or loved one has been incarcerated for an extended period of time and are eligible for parole, it is important that they do everything their power to ensure they they receive the freedom they are seeking.
WHAT IS A PAROLE PACKET
- A parole packet is a collection of materials that we assemble to demonstrate to the parole board why an inmate is worthy of being granted parole
The decision to grant an inmate’s request for parole rests solely on the Texas Board of Pardons and Parole. Among the many things the parole board takes into consideration before ruling on a parole application is:
- The severity of the offense committed that incarcerated the inmate
- The amount of time already served by the inmate, and
- The progress the inmate has made while incarcerated (educational programs, counseling and participation in services offered by TDCJ).
